The Best Cake Eyeliners

Frequently used by professional makeup artists, cake eyeliner delivers a dynamic, defined look to any eye makeup. Worn thin, the liner looks chic and classy. Worn thick, cake eyeliner adds instant drama and flirty sex appeal. The best cake eyeliner should not only be easy to apply, but also maintain its precise perfection throughout the day.

Brand

As with any beauty product, what works best for one fashionista might be a fashion disaster for another. Typically, the more expensive a product, the better the quality. While that statement might ring true with certain luxury beauty brands, you’ll certainly be able to find plenty of budget-friendly options that give you a perfect eyeliner look. If there’s a particular brand of eye makeup you always use, you might find that their cake eyeliner works best for you. If you’re not loyal to any specific brand, test a few different brands to find your perfect match. Many beauty stores and departments allow you to test products before you buy.

Texture

Cake eyeliner has a thick, dense texture and a rich, bold color. If the term “cake” conjures up images of soft, fluffy birthday cake, you might be confused on the texture. The texture of cake eyeliner is more like the texture of the dirt that’s caked onto your favorite riding boots. The texture is similar to eyeshadow, yet slightly smoother and denser. The best cake eyeliner has a soft, velvety texture. When mixed with a liquid, it should turn into a thick gel for easy application.

Application

Apply cake eyeliner with a thin eyeliner brush. While some cake eyeliners can only be worn wet, the best cake eyeliners allow two main options for wear. For a subtle smoky look, apply the liner dry. For a cleaner, more sophisticated look, apply it wet. The instructions guide you to use either water or a specialized sealing liquid. Add just a small amount of liquid to the liner on the back of your hand and swirl around until you get a smooth gel. Look for a liner that requires very little liquid to achieve the perfect consistency -- this saves you valuable time and money.

Wear

There’s not much worse than glancing into the mirror at work or during your date to find that your eyeliner has turned into an awful mess. As with all beauty products, there will be some cake eyeliners that stay perfect on your pretty little lids -- and some that don’t seem to stay put for longer than five minutes. Unfortunately, it takes a bit of trial and error to find your perfect match. Look for a cake eyeliner that stays in place throughout the day without smudging, smearing, running, collecting in the corner of your eyes or completely wearing off. When testing out cake eyeliners before you buy, don’t simply test out the ease of application and the immediate look. Instead, spend the whole day in the eyeliner and re-assess before you wash your face for the night. If you still love the look, a quick trip back to the store is all you need to acquire the newest item in your beauty arsenal.

TGIF: Movies to see

Friday nights tend to be the nights when everyone's feeling good and ready to celebrate the weekend.
Fridays are nights that represent letting loose and having fun, which is why I'm starting a TGIF series that I'll post every friday.

Basically it's going to consist of fun ways to spend ones Friday evening. I thought I'd start off with something that everyone can relate to and enjoy: The Movies!

If you love going to the movies to watch to kick back and relax after a week of nothing but hard work, I have some movie suggestions that might appeal to you:

1. Snow White and the Hunstman: (I've seen this)

and...

 2. What to Expect When You’re Expecting:  (really want to see this one)

Décor Idea : Johnson's Holder!

Oh the things I find on the internet lol but This is interesting...

I was surfing the net as usual and I was on Makeit-loveit.com. I totally noticed how Makeit-loveit.com came up with a way to repurpose an old lotion bottle as a solution for obnoxious cell phone charging cords, but the idea is easily adaptable to a ton of other uses. I thought this Do-It-Yourself electronic charging container was pretty flippin cute. of course you can use any kind of container, any size you want. I usually plug my phone into the wall and let it lie on the ground or on a counter-top while it charges, which is the normal thing to do. But this little holder just makes things so much easier, I cant tell you how many times my mom gets pissed when my phones just lying on the ground where she can step on it or on the counter by the sink where it can fall into a sink full water.

Its not only for electronics, duh! You can keep whatever the heck you want depending on the size of bottle you use, Examples you ask? how about hair clips, toothbrushes, even your hair straightener if you can find a big/narrow enough bottle!
You can also leave it for display if you think its cute enough or you can store it when its not in use so you can just pull it out when you need to use it. You can keep it in your bathroom or vanity counter, hang it on the hook on your wall, or keep it out of sight and hang it from an over-the-door hook in a bathroom cupboard.

To make the container, you need:

1. A plastic bottle (they used a lotion container, but a large shampoo or conditioner bottle would work just the same. The size in their photos is most likely too small if you’re planning to use it for styling tool storage; most tools will probably require the jumbo 33.8 oz. bottle size that you find at most super stores or wholesale stores.)
2. Scissors
3. A square of sandpaper
4. Exacto knife
5. Items to decorate with, such as fabric, sticker paper, Mod Podge or glue (if using fabric), paint, stencils, crystals, etc. (all optional)

What to do:
1. Clean out the bottle so that it is completely clear of any product
2.Trace the shape and size of the tool you plan to use the container for on the outside of the bottle. This will let you know how tall you need the container to be. You will probably need to at least cut off the neck of the bottle that tapers in in order to be able to easily remove your tools.

3.If you think you’ll want your container to hang, cut out an opening in the back where you could hang it from at this time, too.
4. Using your scissors cut off the excess material from the top of the bottle and around the cord opening (if applicable) that you traced in steps 2 & 3.

5. Sand the outside of the bottle so that the surface is smooth enough for patterns or fabrics to adhere to. Sanding will also fade out any existing designs or writing on the bottle.

6.Once you have your desired shape and smoothed surface, it’s time to get creative with your decorating!

Here are just a few of the different ways you could cover your container:

a) Fabric: The people over at makeit-loveit used fabric that they applied with Mod Podge for the holder in the picture. They advise coating the area of the container that is to be covered with Mod Podge first, then applying the fabric, and then painting another layer of Mod Podge on top of the fabric to get it to stay. Then hang to dry and make sure it doesn’t touch anything.
b) Sticker Paper: Print a pattern or design onto adhesive sticker paper (you can find this at most office supply stores), cut out the shapes and sizes you need to cover the surface area of your container and apply like a sticker!
c) Glitz It Up: You could cover your container in your favorite crystals (this would be quite time-consuming, but the final product might be worth it!)
d) Good, old-fashioned paint: Spray paint the bottle for a light, clean finish.
e) Stencils: Stencil a pattern and fill it in with paint or paint pens
 - If you have a pretty bottle and you’re able to remove the label, just use that! There’s nothing wrong with keeping it a solid color.

Tips:
 -  Use the exacto knife to trim any edges (especially if you are using fabric to cover the bottle).
 - Let your project dry completely and clean it off before putting any items inside.

Hey! Remember me?

Hi

Its a Saturday afternoon and I just Bought paint since I'm starting to renovate my bedroom

Its going to be a classy bedroom. very elegant and princess like but a mature princess.
Not like the princess room us girls have when we're 8.

I'm currently reading "Shiver" by Maggie Stiefvater.. which I'd reccomend to anyone that was a TEAM jacob fan during the twilight era. if you weren't then this ones probably not for you. I wasn't a jacob fan, I didnt even like the twilight thing. but I like wolves... regular wolves so this story's kind of cool .

I'm going to paint my room starting Monday and I'm painting it one wall at a time. Its water based paint not oil this time, thank god, since our bathroom is a Pea Green disaster.

I bought Disney's Anastasia that I'm currently, right this moment, watching on my big flat computer monitor. I freaking love this movie.

I also bought Mariah Carey's complete collection CD thing, and Prince's also.
I have to listen to Mariah while I clean or I just wont get anything done. and Prince is just a feel-good jam.

Just thought I'd update this blog with something other than a video or a book review. =P

Ta-Ta!

Doesnt this look good??? mmmmmmmm best drink during the summer

so today and lately its been dawning on me how distant i've become with my friends. I mean I dont even know whats going on in their lives anymore. It makes me feel guilty that I'm a horrible friend. =( I miss them all too!! Times like these I feel alone. Like theres an alley way that narrows down to nothing. thats whats in front of me: nothing.

*sigh* but ... lets not dwell on such negative thoughts and focus on humor ( as always). So ... I think I'll watch a movie because my mp3 is really dead and I dont think I want to wait up for it to charge. I need either music or a movie for me to sleep. If I have neither, I will fall asleep, but It will take forever and I will not have any dreams. I like dreams =) so a movie it is!! letss get the popcorn and pepsi ready!

This is what I`m popping into the dvd slot:

and I can already feel my solitude drifting away lol

Goodnight xox

I need this.

How cool would it be if all your dreams were stored in lanterns above your bed? Then, after waking up, you could look at them in full detail... minus the trees and nest.

Aurora Borealis

Is this not the most amazing, gorgeous, natural occurrence you've ever seen in a photo? Just the thought of something this epic existing in my world makes life worth living. I'm sure that when I eventually get to see this is real life, I'd probably silently cry tears of joy and extreme wonder. Witnessing an aurora firsthand is definitely on my "bucket list".
